Fourteen stalwart birders gathered at
Green Key on our coldest morning since mid-April
to begin our coastal field trip.
Although it was brisk, the bright sun gave us beautiful images of the shore
birds and we knew the heavy jackets would be coming off soon. In all, we
identified a very respectable 63 species. Sixty-one of the birds were seen by
at least two people but the clapper rail and marsh wren were ideed by
sound.
